Teacher Resources
Providing ideas and resources that center around birds and bird habitats
May we assist you?
St. Johns Regional Audubon (SJRA) would be honored to help you enrich your students’ education.
Here is a list of some fun educational activities that we can provide or assist with.
- Provide bird walk leaders for nature walks at a local park in your area or near school grounds if appropriate.
- Provide grant money for teachers & student projects focused on birds and/or bird habitat. (See buttons below.)
- Provide information. For example, did you know that you can obtain four free bird feeders from the renowned Cornell Lab of Ornithology?
- Provide an independent study program for high school students needing community service credits (please see our Young Birders webpage).
- Provide classroom presentations on birding in St. Johns and Putnam Counties. We have Powerpoint presentations, hands on activities, games for learning about birds and habitat with information provided by the National Audubon Society, Cornell Lab of Ornithology, and FWC’s Flying Wild
- Assist you in obtaining materials from Audubon Adventures, which has standards-based science content focused on grades 3 – 5 (but adaptable as well.)
